I'm just working to make the world a better place through A.I-powered civil engineering.

I am increasingly focused on developing smart cities that use technology to improve the quality of life of people. This includes developing smart transportation systems, energy-efficient buildings, and other infrastructure that can be managed and optimized using data and analytics.

Things I Can Do

I am Proficient in Python, HTML and CSS, experienced in Matlab, familiar with SQL and comfortable working with Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Sklearn, Pytorch, Tensorflow and Git . I'm also good with pyautocad; the python library for autocad automation.

A Few Accomplishments

These are the projects that I have been able to successfully accomplish using python.

DSPS23 Student competition

My team and I enrolled in the second track of the competition where we were supposed use a set of image data to train a YoloV5 model to detect pavement cracks. We were awarded the second place with a model accuracy of about 0.73.

Password security system

The development of an object-oriented password security system using python. The program is capable of doing the following;

  • It allows users to have only three attempts.
  • It alerts users on the number of attempts left after any failed attempt.
  • It blocks the user after the third attempt.
  • It also prompts the user if the password is not up to the required length and if there are spaces in the password.
  • A.I city challenge 2023

The training of a machine learning model to detect, track and count a specified class of objects in a shop. This was to improve the involvement of artificial intelligence in our daily lives so as to make life more comfortable and safer. My team and I enrolled in the fourth track of the competition.

    File Sorting program

The software is designed to help users efficiently organize and manage their files. With an intuitive interface, you can easily sort files based on their file types, enabling a streamlined and clutter-free file system. Simply specify the source folder. The software will automatically move and categorize files, making it easier to locate and access them. Experience the benefits of easy file organization and take control of your digital space with the File Sorting Software.

    Publications and conference presentations

Conference presentation: Data Science for Pavements Symposium. Title: Pavement distress detection using YoloV5.

Research paper: Blessing Agyei Kyem, Eugene K. Assuah-Damoah, Eugene Denteh, Samuel Awotwe, and Armstrong Aboah (2023). Pavement distress detection using YoloV5. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (under review)

    Kanko circular hub community project

I partcipated in a design sprint with other students of KNUST to investigate the opportunities in implementing waste as resource for new building materials. This was organized by Nordewind together with the Kumasi Metropolitan assembly. Together, we surveyed the sites, observed and analyzed the current state of the bridges and also gathered information on the available waste materials at the site that could be used for the rehabilitation of the bridges. This turned out to be a wonderful experience as I got the opportunity to interact with several people from diverse disciplines on a community project; the concept development stage was just wonderful.
